Drug: Caduet

amlodipine besylate and atorvastatin calcium (pronounced am-LOW-dih-peen BES-eh-layt and uh-TOR-vuh-stah-tin KAL-see-um)

Common Side Effects: headache, infection, swelling.

Less Common Side Effects: abdominal pain, back pain, bronchitis, chest pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, flatulence, flulike syndrome, flushing, itching, joint pain, nausea, palpitations, rash, runny nose, inflamed sinuses, drowsiness, sore throat, trouble breathing, trouble sleeping, urinary tract infection.

Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Don't double the dose.

Drug Interactions: Combining certain medications may alter their actions or produce unwanted effects. Tell your health care provider about other prescription medications, nonprescription medications, herbs, and supplements you're taking, especially:

antifungals (such as ketoconazole)
cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune)
digoxin (Digitek, Lanoxin)
erythromycin (E-Mycin, ERYC, Erythrocin)
fibric acid derivatives (such as gemfibrozil)
hormone-based medications (such as birth control pills)
medications that lower cholesterol
niacin (Niacor, Niaspan).
