Drug: Altace

ramipril (pronounced RAH-mih-pril)

Common Side Effects: dry, persistent, tickling, nonproductive cough.

Less Common Side Effects: headache, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, light-headedness, anxiety, forgetfulness, depression, difficulty sleeping, nervousness, numbness and tingling in the arms or legs, loss of reflexes, extreme sleepiness, tremor, fainting, chest pain, fluttering sensation in the chest, nosebleed, ringing in the ears, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, poor appetite, constipation, diarrhea, upset stomach, dry mouth, impotence, difficulty breathing, rash, itching or swelling, skin sensitivity to sunlight, increased sweating, weight gain, joint, muscle, or bone pain.

Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose as scheduled. Don't double the dose.

Drug Interactions: Combining certain medications may alter their actions or produce unwanted effects. Tell your health care provider about other prescription medications, nonprescription medications, herbs, and supplements you're taking, especially:

diuretics (water pills)
insulin
lithium
oral antidiabetic medications
potassium-sparing diuretics
potassium supplements.
