Common Side Effects:
 
Less Common Side Effects: whirling feeling, headache, dizziness, numbness or tingling in the arms or legs, restlessness, dehydration, low blood pressure when changing body position, increased cholesterol levels, blurred or yellow-tinted vision, abdominal discomfort and pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, inflammation of the pancreas, urination at night, frequent urination, inability to urinate, increased urea in the blood, skin inflammation, purple areas under the skin, unusual sensitivity to the sun, liver dysfunction, low level of potassium in the blood, decreased blood chloride levels, gout, fever, muscle spasm, weakness, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, high glucose level, impaired glucose tolerance.
 
Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose as scheduled. Don't double the dose.
 
Drug Interactions: Combining certain medications may alter their actions or produce unwanted effects. Tell your health care provider about other prescription medications, nonprescription medications, herbs, and supplements you're taking, especially:
  • aminoglycoside antibiotics (such as gentamicin and tobramycin)
  • amphotericin B
  • antidiabetic medications

  • lithium

  • metolazone (Zaroxolyn)
  • neuromuscular blockers
  • NSAIDs (such as Advil, Aleve, and ibuprofen)
  • salicylates (such as aspirin)
  • sucralfate.
