Drug: Lotensin

benazepril hydrochloride (pronounced beh-NAH-zuh-pril high-droh-KLOR-ighd)

 
Common Side Effects:
 
Less Common Side Effects: headache, dizziness, anxiety, fatigue, trouble sleeping, nervousness, numbness and tingling in arms and legs, low blood pressure, heart palpitations, trouble swallowing; increased salivation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, trouble breathing, hypersensitivity reactions (rash, itching), joint and muscle pain, increased sweating, high potassium levels in the blood (causing irregular heartbeat, nausea, or a slow or weak pulse) dry, persistent, or nonproductive cough.
 
Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Don't double the dose.
 
Drug Interactions: Combining certain medications may alter their actions or produce unwanted effects. Tell your health care provider about other prescription medications, nonprescription medications, herbs, and supplements you're taking, especially:
  • diuretics (water pills)
  • lithium
  • medications that lower blood pressure
  • potassium supplements.
