Drug: BuSpar

buspirone hydrochloride (pronounced byoo-SPEER-ohn high-droh-KLOR-ighd)

Common Side Effects: dizziness, drowsiness.

Less Common Side Effects: nervousness, trouble sleeping, headache, light-headedness, fatigue, numbness, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal distress, blurred vision, fast heartbeat, decreased concentration, excitability, feelings of anger or hostility, confusion, depression, rash.

Missed Dose: If you're taking this medicine regularly, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Don't double the dose.

Drug Interactions: Combining certain medications may alter their actions or produce unwanted effects. Tell your health care provider about other prescription medications, nonprescription medications, herbs, and supplements you're taking, especially:

erythromycin
itraconazole (Sporanox)
MAO inhibitors (antidepressants)
medications that slow down the central nervous system (such as cold and allergy medications, tranquilizers, and sedatives)
nefazodone.
